Tattooing, for me, is more than a craft; it’s a living testament to stories, emotions, and the very essence of identity. As I sit in my cozy studio in Montreal, the hum of the machine a familiar soundtrack to my work, I often reflect on the winding path that brought me here. My journey as a Black and grey artist has been a mosaic of challenges, triumphs, and profound personal growth.

There’s a unique magic in translating someone's vision into a permanent piece of art, a story etched onto their skin. I invite you to walk with me through the moments that shaped my passion and the creative world I inhabit.

The Vision and the Turning Point: Discovering My Passion

My love affair with art began long before I ever held a tattoo machine, but it was a specific moment that truly set me on this path. During a deep breath-work session in the spring of 2019, I had a vision. A vision of misty water and forms of art flowing out of me. It was a revelation, a clear sign that my journey to become an artist had begun.

This vision served as a catalyst, prompting me to reconsider my path. After deciding to end a chapter working as a water treatment technician, I was given an amazing opportunity to manage a tattoo shop in Montreal, where I currently reside. I was immediately drawn into the art form, the intricate details, and the stories behind each piece.

Navigating Challenges and Embracing Growth:

The journey, however, was not without its obstacles. When the pandemic hit, the pursuit of being a tattoo artist was put on hold. Money was tight, and I faced difficult personal challenges. I returned to water treatment to pay the bills, but my passion for tattooing never waned. My spare time was dedicated to apprenticing in a tattoo shop and experimenting with realism drawing, floral illustration, oil painting, and suminigashi.

These years were a period of intense personal growth. I delved into therapy, working on myself and confronting the challenges that stood in my way.

Embracing Identity and Crafting My Style:

Art, in its truest form, transcends boundaries, and I've found strength in connecting with others who champion representation in the art world. I strive to be a beacon for aspiring artists from all backgrounds, proving that talent and passion know no limits. Just as skin serves as a canvas for my art, I believe everyone deserves to see their identity reflected in the art they wear.

As I honed my skills, I observed the evolution of tattoo styles, from realism to floral, to abstract. Yet, it was the depth and elegance of abstract, organic forms that continued to captivate me. The nuanced shading, the way it brings texture to life, and the intentional absence of color, which invites deeper interpretation, became the hallmarks of my style. One of my signature techniques is what I call “flow tattoos”—designs that emphasize organic movement of water and nature, and seamless transitions. These pieces become visual narratives, echoing the contours of the body and telling the client’s unique story. Each tattoo is a fusion of natural form and personal journey.

Gratitude and Connection: Building Meaningful Relationships

I want to give an immense amount of gratitude to every client who has supported my journey thus far, to my family and loved ones who have helped me through the bumpy roads, and all the talented artists who I have had the opportunity to work with!

The most rewarding aspect of my work in Montreal is the deep connection I forge with my clients. Each session becomes a shared experience, filled with laughter, emotions, and heartfelt stories. There’s an immense vulnerability in choosing to permanently wear your story on your skin, and I deeply respect the trust my clients place in me. Every line I draw is a collaborative effort, a way to honor their journey. I believe every tattoo possesses a soul, and my mission is to capture that energy in a way that resonates with the world.

Healing Through Art and Honoring Heritage:

Tattooing can be a powerful therapeutic tool. Many clients come to me seeking not just art, but a way to reclaim their bodies after trauma, loss, or personal struggles. Being a part of their healing process is both humbling and profoundly fulfilling. I strive to create a safe space where clients can openly share their emotions. These conversations often become catalysts for self-reflection during the tattooing process, demonstrating the transformative power of art.

Closing Thoughts: A Journey of Discovery and Breakthroughs

I shall never cease to be grateful to the years of apprenticeship and difficulties I have, and will overcome along the way. Every journey is unique and with every breakdown, there is an opportunity for a breakthrough! ❤️😉 🛤️

My journey as a realism artist in Montreal and an abstract artist is a continuous exploration of creativity, identity, and connection. From the visionary moments that sparked my passion to the intricate flow tattoos I create today, each step has been a testament to the trans-formative power of art and personal growth.

I invite you to join me in this journey. Let’s create something beautiful together, revealing the stories that lie beneath the surface. Life is a canvas, and tattoos are just the beginning of our shared narratives. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
